First Tee Board Member Cindy Figg-Currier Scores in Legends Championship

AUSTIN, TX, November 17, 2011 ­— The First Tee of Greater Austin (TFTGA) is pleased to announce that Cindy Figg-Currier, an LPGA Legends member and TFTGA board member, finished third in the Legends Tour Open Championship this week in Palm Harbour, Florida.

The tournament was the final event of the 2011 LPGA Legends Tour and was held November 11-13 at the Innisbrook Salamander Golf and Spa Resort. A field of 44 LPGA Legends competed for the top prizes, including first-year Legend Nancy Lopez.

Ms. Figg-Currier is a multiple-time Legends Tour Champion, winning the Legends Wendy’s Charity Challenge in both 2008 and 2011, as well as the Legends BJ’s Charity Championship in 2008. Currently a resident of Austin, Texas, she was inducted into her home state’s elite Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 2003. While competing on the LPGA Legends circuit, Ms. Figg-Currier actively supports The First Tee of Greater Austin’s many initiatives, effectively combining her passions for golf and for youth development.
