AUSTIN, TX (August 2, 2012) - On Thursday, July 26th, the Onion Creek Rotary Club (OCRC) donated $1,000 to support youth participants at The First Tee of Greater Austin (TFTGA). Their gift allows two children to participate in The First Tee’s character-building programs for a full year at no cost to their families.
Bill Parmeter with the OCRC presented the $1,000 check to Program Development Manager Jordan Jones, Executive Director Jennifer MacCurrach, and the two participants selected for the program scholarships, Audrey Trujillo and Caeleib Ybarra. “I love going out to The First Tee and making new friends,” says Audrey.
“Caeleib and Audrey are just two of 5,000 kids between the ages of 5-18 that we will serve this year. With each of the 5,000 kids requiring a subsidy to participate in the program, gifts like the donation from OCRC are very much appreciated,” says Jordan Jones.
