Albert Leigh, father of The First Tee of Greater Austin participant Andrew Leigh and former TFTGA participant Ariel Lee, had this to say about Andrew being selected to play at Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach:
On
behalf of the Leigh family, I'd like to express our sincere gratitude for
Andrew being selected to participate at the First Tee Open in Pebble Beach. We
are so grateful to be part of The First Tee. We thank each and every one
who has been guiding and working with Andrew throughout the years.
As a parent of a past
participant of the First Tee Open, I am delighted to send you an update on
my daughter Ariel Leigh who was selected to play in the 2007 First Tee
Open. Just this past Sunday, Ariel graduated with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mechanical Engineering from Frank W. Olin College of Engineering in
Needham, MA. She will start her career as a Propulsion Engineer in the
Commercial Aircraft Division of the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA. Ariel
joined TFTGA and LPGA-USGA Girls Golf since the beginning in
Austin.
I
must say the First Tee has certainly accomplished its goal "to impact the
lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character,
instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of
golf."
The First Tee Open in Pebble
Beach is coming up on July 5 – 8. Please be sure to tune into the Golf Channel
and cheer on Andrew as he represents our chapter!
